Winter Hawk

This was a holiday book in the Evidence series. It is a romantic suspense novel. I wanted to read at least one holiday themed book for Christmas and I just wasn't feeling the two Krampus romance books I have.

The FMC gets fired suspiciously just before Christmas as she is working on a top secret project, having just finished another commercial project. And the MMC is hired to drive her home. But someone tries to kill her and the MMC sweeps into action. They figure out that that someone is trying to ruin the FMC's life and reputation. With the help of the MMC's coworkers/friends they swart the bad guy and save the day(Christmas).

I read the other Evidence books and found two others that sound like my cup of tea so I'll be adding them to my TBR list. Each books is a standalone though they have some of the same characters so you don't have to read them all or in really any order.

Presumed Dead

I'm still on a mystery kick but saw this paranormal suspense by Christina Kaye, a editor/author I follow on IG. So I decided to download it.

Presumed Dead

4 Stars

I liked the premise and it did keep my attention. However I wanted a bit more, seemed anti-climaxy to me at the end.

The FMC was living in a small town, hiding a dowsey of a secret and having visions of a missing little girl. When she met the MMC(a detective) there was an instant attraction. But her secret comes back and tries to kill her. However the MMC and FMC overcome it and get together. They both leave the small town and find the missing girl.

Maybe this was gonna be a first book in a series? That's what it feels like. I wanted to know what happened next after they found the girl and settled in the new town.  I'll see if she has some other books with these characters or see if one of her others capture my attention as this one did.

December Update

I just finished book 1 of the Arcane Casebook series by Dan Willis. Wonderful book. I'll add the rest of the series little by little to my TBR list.. Right now I'm in a regular mystery kick so I'm re-reading some of my favorites there.

IF you're interested in magical mysteries try Arcane Casebook series, the first book being In Plain Sight.

The series gives a twist on the workings of magic.
