April 2026

 Long time, no blog. :)

My seasonal disorder has been kickin' my butt. I've just not been very active. I have read two books for a friend and reviewed them on Amazon for her but I haven't wrote much at all since December.

I came across a new book that may be up your alley if you like supernatural stuff. It's called Dead Weight.

https://www.amazon.com/Dead-Weight-Supernatural-Thriller-Whisperer-ebook/dp/B0DWT82SXR

I enjoyed it and have added the series to my list to be read. Now I just need to be turned into  vampire so I have time to read all the books on my list.

December 2025 update

Well, I caught up on the two book club books. But I still have November's to read. I've been on YouTube stories a lot this past month. My muse has not been in the mood to write much recently but I'm going to set some time these evenings and work on my WIP even if my muse tries to be finicky. I need to get these books out of my head.  I saw a few Krampus books when I was surfing Amazon. I love those kind of books. Sometimes you just need the darker side.

November update

I'm way behind on book club books but I just can't seem to drag myself to read them. I have other things on my mind and I don't feel like reading. This year has been not so good money wise or book wise for me. I did add an anthology to my TBR list. It's Halloween themed but I didn' t get to it either. I'm just not in the reading mood this last month. I hope I can shake that and get back into reading. I guess I'm just too depressed about what's happening in the USA and even with my meds, well I just don't feel happy at all. We'll see how the new year hits me.

October update

I still haven't read September's book. I just haven't been in the mood. But I guess I better get to it. And I need to read the October book too.

September Update

It was hard to finish the last book for the book club. I never got into it but I got it done and wrote the review.

Next book up is Sally's Secret Legacy. Suppose to be a paranormal romance. If I read a romance it usually is a paranormal one as regular romance, well most of them bore me as they follow a regular pattern.

Hopefully this one will keep my attention

August Update

The next book club book looks like a romantic suspense or at least a suspense. I've started on it, but I just don't seem to be getting into it yet. Maybe it's just that I've been reading cozy mysteries, and this is definitely not that. I can tell this is gonna be a hard read. But I'll get it read.

July update

AS I said I read Vengeance is mine and did the review for June. Then I read July's book club book and did it's review. I wanted to get it over with as it was a biography/memoir and I don't read those. It wasn't bad but I just don't like memoirs.

I've been reading through my cozy mysteries. I've read about eight of them so far. Quick, easy reads.  Different serieses.

June Update

Slayer of Nephilim by Daniel Moots was good.

4 stars

Next book up for book club is Vengeance is Mine by Sage Hunter. It's a romance and not one I'd usually read as it doesn't have vampires, werewolves, or other supernatural things. So we'll see how it goes.

And I added a few titles to my ebook TBR list. I'd have a 8x8 shed full of books if I combined by physical TBR and my ebook TBR lists. I'm gonna have to be turned into a vampire or eat a golden apple to be able to finish all these books.

Update: I read Vengeance is Mine and did a review. Not bad for a christian romance. I also just finished 3 books by Eva Pohler, her mystery house series. I'm in the mood to read so I'll be going through my ebook TBR list and reading some of them. 3 down and thousands to go.

May Update

Got some reviews from the other book club members on my Bone Whisperer book, making it 20 ratings now. I need to read this month's book so I can do a review of it. I've been on YouTube a lot this past month instead of reading like I should. It's amazing what you can find on YouTube.

The book for this month is Slayer of Nephilim. Sounds like a good fantasy adventure novel. We shall see.

April Update

The Healer's Way Book 7 is started but since it's been nice weather I've been outside doing 'projects' with Dad. Latest of which was laying chad on our driveway, well, part of the driveway. We got enough for half.  Took us all day to lay it out, rake, etc. But now that half won't have muddy tracks.

I also uploaded the next book in my book club. May's book I should say since mine's this month.

March Update

Moved on to Book 6 of The Healer's Way, portal progression series. It has 9 books out and four on pre-order status right now. So it may take a while for me to read them. But I'm going to read up to 9 then hop to another book/series until the new books come out.

I'm still only 1/2 way through the book club book. I'll finish it now that it's March so I can do a review.

February Update

Working on Book 5 of The Healer's Way, portal progression series. I like this series. I'm gonna try to read all that's out so far.

Oh, I'm also in a book club and am reading the book slated for March. It's a Christian book so it's slow going for me. However it's not too preachy so it ain't too bad. As a book it's going to get a good review from me because the writing is good.

January Update

Last book of the year was The Healer's Way #1 by Oleg Sapphire (Author) , Alexey Kovtunov (Author)

4 Stars

It's a portal progression series. So far so good. Kept my attention. MMC is arrogant but likable. If you haven't read a portal series before this is a good one to try. I am reading the 2nd book right now and it's going as good as the 1st.

Winter Hawk

This was a holiday book in the Evidence series. It is a romantic suspense novel. I wanted to read at least one holiday themed book for Christmas and I just wasn't feeling the two Krampus romance books I have.

The FMC gets fired suspiciously just before Christmas as she is working on a top secret project, having just finished another commercial project. And the MMC is hired to drive her home. But someone tries to kill her and the MMC sweeps into action. They figure out that that someone is trying to ruin the FMC's life and reputation. With the help of the MMC's coworkers/friends they swart the bad guy and save the day(Christmas).

I read the other Evidence books' blurbs and found two others that sound like my cup of tea so I'll be adding them to my TBR list. Each books is a standalone though they have some of the same characters so you don't have to read them all or in really any order.

If you'd like to check them out, go here

Presumed Dead

I'm still on a mystery kick but saw this paranormal suspense by Christina Kaye, a editor/author I follow on IG. So I decided to download it.

Presumed Dead

4 Stars

I liked the premise and it did keep my attention. However I wanted a bit more, seemed anti-climaxy to me at the end.

The FMC was living in a small town, hiding a dowsey of a secret and having visions of a missing little girl. When she met the MMC(a detective) there was an instant attraction. But her secret comes back and tries to kill her. However the MMC and FMC overcome it and get together. They both leave the small town and find the missing girl.

Maybe this was gonna be a first book in a series? That's what it feels like. I wanted to know what happened next after they found the girl and settled in the new town.  I'll see if she has some other books with these characters or see if one of her others capture my attention as this one did.

December Update

I just finished book 1 of the Arcane Casebook series by Dan Willis. Wonderful book. I'll add the rest of the series little by little to my TBR list.. Right now I'm in a regular mystery kick so I'm re-reading some of my favorites there.

IF you're interested in magical mysteries try Arcane Casebook series, the first book being In Plain Sight.

The series gives a twist on the workings of magic.

November Update

Taking a break out of reading Lackey's Mage Storm book 3 to read my writer friend's new book: Create your Way to Freedom: How to be a Success from Someone who isn't. I don't read much non-fiction unless it has something to do with writing--and is written by someone I like.

If you have read his blogs, most of what is in this book is from them. There is a lot more on his website than is in this book. You can either read his blogs or read this book but either way it is very educational.

October update

Still on Lackey's Mage Storm trilogy, book 2.

Though I may switch over to a serial killer book. I saw it on Amazon the other night and got the first book on my tablet in my TBR list. It's the Asylum Confessions by Jack Steen. The books sound disturbing enough to read for October Horror Daze. Serial Killers and the like confessing to the prison's angel of death.  Though I may wait until closer to Halloween.

If you want to check them out, Here is the link: Asylum confession files

September Update

Still on the second book in Lackey's Mage Storm trilogy.

My muse has been doing other things and leaving me hanging on my writing and reading. But then I'm not really in a hurry, I don't have to be somewhere like a job, so it doesn't matter if I take time off. Well, except for my writing, I should have had one book pubbed already and the other half way done. Neither is done.

However I have added to my TBR list. There were some freebie first in series that I snagged when I was going through Kindle. Which I do periodically to do this very thing. I may latch onto one and read--if my muse gets out of her funk and gets back to her REAL job.  :)

August Update

On the second book in Lackey's Storm trilogy.

Taking my time and my muse is doing other things. She's supposed to be writing but she's messing around with wood and paint and metal. So I'm behind on reading and writing. But I am making things. At least that's something. :)
